Optics as a term encompasses rhetorical, scientific, and literary dimensions. Writing a paper through a lens is a type of rhetorical optics. Ideology is another form of rhetorical optics which brings reality in out of focus through subjective lenses. A metaphor is literary lens which condenses totality through comparison of two similar things.
Black Optics takes these each of these dimensions and examines them as they form the whole of optics. Through this a more comprehensive and non-hierarchical understanding can perhaps be formed.
